Business English
Standard online English conversation services centre on everyday conversation lessons with non-native instructors, offered at budget price points. ELT takes a different approach: 100% native instructors — graduates of Oxford, Cambridge and UCL who hold CELTA/DELTA qualifications and bring business experience — work one-to-one with intermediate through executive-level learners on a continuing basis, with plans from $239 per month. It suits those who have moved beyond simply getting comfortable with English and want to reach the level of getting work done in English.
Short-term intensive coaching services typically have a coach draw up a study plan and support the learner through largely self-directed study, packaged as an intensive three- to twelve-month programme. ELT centres on actual dialogue lessons with native instructors and continues flexibly on a monthly basis. Coaching suits those who want to raise a TOEIC score in a short period; ELT suits those aiming, over the longer term, at a level where they can genuinely work in English.
Yes. Every ELT instructor is a graduate of a leading university, primarily in the UK — including Oxford, Cambridge, UCL (University College London), Manchester and Edinburgh. They also hold English teaching qualifications such as CELTA (certified by Cambridge English) and DELTA (its advanced counterpart). Individual instructor profiles are available on our instructor page.
Our guideline is TOEIC 700 (CEFR B1) or above, though enrolment is possible in some cases in the 600s. What matters is whether you can handle simple everyday conversation and business email in English. If you are unsure about your level, we will first assess your current English in a free consultation and propose the most suitable plan. Those at beginner level can also start with the Basic plan (Everyday English course).
Yes. We can arrange three to five lessons per week as an intensive two- to three-month programme, concentrating on what you need for the assignment — the local business culture of your destination, industry-specific English, and the everyday English you will use while living there. For details, please see our dedicated page on Business English for overseas assignments.
Yes — as a rule, the same instructor stays with you. This allows the instructor to develop a deep understanding of your work, your position within your organisation, and your stronger and weaker skills, and to design your progress with a long-term view. You may of course change instructors if the fit is not right or if you have a particular request; please speak with your coordinator.
If you notify us at least 24 hours before the lesson starts, it can be rescheduled. This flexibility is designed for professionals whose schedules shift with business trips and last-minute meetings. Please note that the number of reschedules is capped, and the limit varies by plan and by the number of lessons contracted. We will explain the details when you sign up.
All ELT lessons are conducted online via Zoom. You can join from anywhere in the world — your home, your office, a business trip, or an overseas posting. It is more time-efficient than travelling to a school, which makes it well suited to busy professionals.
Wherever possible, we assign an instructor with a background in a comparable industry, or one who is well versed in your specialist field. Please tell us about your industry and the details of your work during the initial consultation.
Yes, absolutely. ELT encourages bringing your real work materials into lessons. You can bring English emails, proposals, reports, presentation slides, and more to refine and polish during sessions. We also offer multi-session rehearsal formats for presentation practice.
Yes. Monthly plans can be cancelled with no cancellation fee. The minimum term is 1 month: notify us by the 15th of any month and your membership ends at the end of that month. A suspension option is also available for extended business trips.
Yes. If you notify us by the 15th of the month, your new plan will take effect the following month. We flexibly accommodate changes in lesson frequency (4/month, 8/month, 12/month), plan level (Basic, Standard, Premium), and payment methods.
Yes, it is completely free. It consists of a consultation (15-20 minutes) to discuss your learning goals and current situation, followed by an actual lesson experience (25-30 minutes). There is no cost whatsoever. We never pressure you to enroll after the trial.
Yes, you can. Many of our students use their company's professional development support programs, language training subsidies, and global talent development funds to take ELT lessons. We are happy to provide any required documentation, including receipts, certificates of completion, and estimates. If you have specific document formats or requirements, please let us know.
Yes, we can. We issue receipts addressed to either your company or you personally, on a per-lesson, monthly, or annual basis. We also comply with Japan's qualified invoice system. Please let us know if you have specific format or addressee requirements.
Yes, we can. We issue certificates of completion that include the study period, number of lessons, assigned instructor, and lesson content. These can be used as proof of professional development for your employer, for visa applications, or as training participation certificates. We issue certificates in both Japanese and English.
Pricing varies based on number of participants, duration, and lesson format (one-on-one/group). After consultation, we'll propose a plan and estimate tailored to your requirements. Please contact us via our corporate site for details.
Currently, ELT's programs are not designated under Japan's Education Training Benefits system (administered by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare). However, many students utilize their company's own professional development support programs or language allowances, and we provide all necessary documentation for such applications. ELT courses are also available as pre-assignment overseas training, and many clients use their company's training budget to enroll.

Int'l & Boarding School
Start with whether your child is applying to a school or already enrolled. If applying, the right admissions support depends on your child's age and the type of school (preschool, an international school in Japan, or a boarding school overseas). If already enrolled, it depends on whether you need curriculum support (IB, A-Level, IGCSE or AP) or support with everyday study. If your situation is more complex, a free consultation will help you sort it out.
Admissions preparation supports the journey up to enrolment: school selection, applications, interviews and entrance tests. Current student support and curriculum support cover what comes after: lessons, assignments and examinations, building results in IB or A-Level, and preparing for university. Once a place is confirmed, families move from admissions preparation to in-school support and continue without a break.
The school sets the entrance test. Its admissions guidance will name a test such as CAT4, UKiset, ISEB, SSAT, MAP or 11+, so please open the page for that test. Even if you have not yet chosen a school, or cannot tell which test applies, we will confirm it with you during a free consultation.
Yes. Each is assessed differently and counts differently towards a university application. Curriculum support is delivered under the PREMIUM Academic plan, which includes guidance on university choice, and we are happy to advise from the stage of deciding which curriculum a school should follow. Each system is explained in detail on its own page: IB, A-Level, IGCSE & GCSE and AP.
Current student support, delivered by professional teachers, systematically supports classwork, assignments and termly examinations. Campus Tutors places current undergraduates and postgraduates from leading universities alongside your child for everyday study. Families tend to choose professional teachers for examinations and recovering results, and tutors for building daily study habits; some use both. We will help you decide during a consultation. See Campus Tutors in detail
From preschool and kindergarten admissions (ages 2 to 6) through to curriculum support and university preparation for secondary students (up to around 18). We will recommend the right service for your child's age and goal, so please start with the relevant page or a free consultation.
Yes. Lessons are 100% online, one-to-one and 50 minutes. Wherever you are in Japan, and while enrolled at a boarding school overseas, you receive the same tuition on a schedule that accounts for the time difference.
We do not guarantee acceptance to a specific school, or exam scores and grades. Final selection and decisions rest with each school and examination body. ELT continuously manages your child's situation and proposes and accompanies you with evidence-based learning and application strategies to maximise the possibility of acceptance and progression. We make no exaggerated promises of results.
Yes, consultations are free. We will ask about your child's situation, including age, current or target school and how their studies are going, then set out which service fits and what to prioritise now. Enquiries with no obligation to enrol are welcome.
